Euroconsult to Participate in GVF Maritime Insights Europe 2012: Expanding Communications with Fixed & Mobile Neworking Solutions to Further Horizons

Paris and Montreal June 20, 2012 – Euroconsult, the leading international research and analysis firm specialized in the satellite and telecommunications sectors, has announced that Richard Roithner, Director of Satcom, will be speaking at the upcoming conference on Maritime Insights Europe 2012: Expanding Communications with Fixed & Mobile Networking Solutions to Further Horizons, to be held in London on June 27 and 28, 2012.

The maritime satcom market is expected to grow at a healthy rate over the next decade, albeit not as rapidly as in recent years. Growth will be spurred, among other factors, by the increased number of terminals used for global maritime satellite communications, which grew by about 6% in 2011 and the proliferation of new Ka-band based services, which allow much faster upload and download speed than either traditional VSAT or MSS.

Richard, who leads Euroconsult’s Satcom team, is specialized in the strategic analysis of satellite operators and service providers. He participates in numerous consulting and due diligence missions for satellite and telecommunications operators, space agencies, and investment funds. Richard is also editor of the Mobile Satellite Communication Markets Survey and a major contributor to the Satellite Communications & Broadcasting Markets Survey.

The conference, Maritime Insights Europe 2012: Expanding Communications with Fixed & Mobile Networking Solutions to Further Horizons (www.uk-emp.co.uk/7th.MIEu.Ldn.2012/) is the 7th in a series of conferences – organized by the GVF-EMP Conference partnership – to take a comprehensive overview of the multiple segments, and multiple facets, of the maritime communications market as it inevitably and progressively occupies the satellite broadband space. The conference program will also reflect an extended collaboration with, and the participation of, InterManager, the international ship management association, which encompasses the management of more than 4,370 ships.
