[Excerpt] The size of the FSS market has been relatively stable over the last five years (US$11.3bn), but behind this total significant changes have played out. The market structure of the FSS industry remains concentrated at the top but increasingly fragmented at the bottom. The top four operators (SES, Intelsat, Eutelsat and Telesat) today represent approximately 60% of the industry’s revenue, a share that has been gradually eroding in recent years. Five years ago, they combined for 65% of total revenue. The share of top 10 operators has also decreased, at 77% in 2016 vs. 81% in 2011.
