[Excerpt] Brazilian tanker group Transpetro is investing in satellite communications across its fleet to enhance operations and crew welfare. It has chosen KVH Industries’ VSAT systems and connectivity for a fleet of 45 tankers that operate for state energy group Petrobras.
KVH will provide Ku-band VSAT services and media content under a five-year agreement. This includes faster broadband for ship operations and crew requirements using an Intelsat EpicNG high-throughput satellite (HTS).
